Elena Anfimova, Assistant Portfolio Manager, started at Firebird in 2003. She was a co-founder of the Ukrainian Business Library, a market research firm. Elena also worked for Internet Securities, a Euromoney Company focusing on emerging markets. She is a graduate of Kharkov National University and holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Elena speaks Ukrainian, Russian and English.
Steve Gorelik, CFA, Portfolio Manager, Firebird Private Equity Advisors, LLC, joined Firebird in 2005 while completing M.B.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Steve brings three years of experience as a management consultant at Deloitte and education from a highly selective Value Investing Program at Columbia. He also holds a BS degree from Carnegie Mellon University as well as a CFA (chartered financial analyst) charter and a membership in Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. Steve speaks Russian, English and his native Belarussian.
Nicholas Davidoff, Analyst, started at Firebird in 2007. Previously, Nicholas was a derivatives trader at Ronin Capital, an arbitrage fund in New York and Chicago. Before this, he worked at City of London Investment Group, an institutional emerging markets manager, in their London offices as an analyst. He is a graduate of the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. Nicholas speaks Spanish and English.
Anthony Milewski, Analyst and Counsel, joined Firebird in 2009. Prior to joining Firebird Anthony was an associate in the Moscow office of Skadden, Arps where he worked closely with Russian and Kazakh companies. Anthony started his career at Renaissance Capital in Moscow. Anthony holds a B.A. in Russian history from Brigham Young University, an M.A. in Russian studies from the University of Washington, and a J.D. from the University of Washington. Anthony spent a year in Russia as a Fulbright scholar studying Russian securities law. He holds an LLM in Russian law from the Russian Academy of Sciences. He speaks Russian and is a member of the New York State Bar. Anthony currently serves as a board member for several publicly listed Mongolian companies.
Indrek Kasela, Partner – Amber Trust Management S.A., is responsible for the office in Tallinn, Estonia. Indrek is a former managing director of the Tallinn Stock Exchange. He has an investment banking background and holds an LLM from New York University. Indrek is on the Supervisory Councils of OU Vettel, Salva Kindlustus AS and JSC Elko Group and others. He speaks Estonian, English, Finnish, Russian and French.
Martynas Cesnavicius, Partner – Amber Trust Management S.A., directs the office in Vilnius, Lithuania. He previously worked for Moller Invest, a Norwegian private equity firm. In addition, he has also been a currency trader and a controller, board member and chairman of several businesses. He graduated from Vilnius University's Faculty of Economics with a degree in Banking and Finance and is a member of the boards of AB Snaige, LNK, AB Utenos Trikotazas, AB Malsena and UAB Litagra. He speaks Lithuanian, English and Russian.
